26 February 2021Working Meeting on the Development of the Route in the Czech Republic
On 26 February, 2021, the Library for Foreign Literature (LFL) hosted a meeting between LFL Deputy Director for Interregional and International Cooperation Miguel Palacio, who heads the Association „Holy Places of Undivided Christianity”, Archimandrite Serafim (Shemiatovsky), the representative of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, and Archpriest Nikolai Lischenyuk, the representative of the Russian Orthodox Church to the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, Dean of the Church of Holy Apostles Peter and Paul – the Metochion of the Russian Orthodox Church in Karlovy Vary. The Metochion of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia in Moscow, which is located at the Church of Saint Nicholas Mirlikian in Kotelniki, is a member of the Association „The Holy Places of Undivided Christianity”, while Father Nikolai is on the Project’s Research Board.
The participants in the meeting discussed the development of the Project «Holy Places of Undivided Christianity» on the territory of the Czech Republic. In particular, it was agreed to design a route with the participation of the Metochion of the Russian Orthodox Church in Karlovy Vary. The route will highlight the life and veneration of the patron saint of the Czech State, Saint Martyr Ludmila, Czech Duchess, whose the 1100th anniversary of death is remembered in 2021.
